ifttt-product-thumbIFTTT is a service that enables customers to connect channels (i.e. Facebook, Evernote, Weather, Dropbox, etc.) with personally created or publicly shared profiles known as “recipes.”

IFTTT enables customers to create and share “recipes” that fit the simple statement: “if this then that.” The “this” part of a recipe is a trigger. The “that” part of a recipe is an action.

The combination of a trigger and an action from a customer’s active channels are called recipes.

Sample recipes:

  • Any time you add a new WordPress post it updates your Facebook fan page
  • Starred Google Reader items are sent to Evernote
  • Every time you are tagged in a photo on Facebook, it will be sent to Dropbox
  • Keep record of blog posts in Evernote
  • Save photos that I upload to Facebook to Google Drive.
  • Daily wake up call – call my phone
  • RSS Feed to WordPress Blog
  • Every time you are tagged in a photo on Facebook, it will be sent to Dropbox

There are hundreds of recipes to choose from, or you can create your own.

Personal Recipes can be turned on and off. When turned back on, they pick up as if you had just created them.

Pretty clever, don’t you think?
